There’s nothing better than getting away for a vacation in an exotic land, but there’s also nothing worse than getting raped by 4 heavy-set guys. Sadly, we still much too often come across news stories of innocent tourists being robbed, beaten or worst. This problem is statistically compounded when it comes to women.
Women are more susceptible to crime in foreign lands (Millennial women especially are more likely to travel to remote locations alone). We’d like to take a look at this terrible issue and on the way give you some handy safety tips to serve you on your travels

In today’s world of Instagramming your every move, a lot of people give away their current location to potential thieves, perverts, and generally those with bad intentions. Ladies, when traveling abroad, by all means take all the photos you want, but try to keep posting them on social media outlets until you get back home.

Is it sexist to even assume so? It’s a dangerous world out there and some countries and their respective societies are less respectful of women than others. When it comes to women, there are many more cases of rape, kidnappings or worst when traveling alone.

Meeting new people and sleeping in cheap hostels and/or hotels is part of the fun; however your chances of getting robbed are higher than they would be in; let’s say the penthouse suite of a five star hotel. Regardless, no matter your budget or desired traveling experience, you should always do a thorough background check on where you will be staying.

Partying with Strangers in Strange Lands

As we’ve mentioned before, part of the fun of traveling is meeting and having a good time with new people. But that doesn’t mean you should ever let your guard down, especially if you are a woman. Never accept drinks from strangers, much less rides back to the hotel or anywhere else. Always be in control of what you put into your body and your destinations.
